About FSK 170, Foundation Module for Nurses

The course qualifies nurses to understand and maintain a high standard of care for soldiers under the conditions that apply within the Danish Defence. Participants also gain insight into the structure of the Defence and an understanding of the Defence Medical Doctrine.​

• International politics and medical ethics

• Overview of Danish and NATO medical doctrine

• Overview of the medical evacuation chain

• Introduction to the training and competencies of medical personnel

• Ballistics and projectile movement

• The implications of gunshot wounds on living tissue

• Extended evacuation routes

• Introduction to Defence medical equipment and technical devices

• Practical visits to the Defence’s medical cooperation partners

• Review of MASCAS and triage in accordance with NATO doctrine

• Review of psychological reactions related to missions
