FSK 103 Leadership is part of the Military Medical Officer Programme.
The student learns to understand and apply leadership in practice, with a focus on leading a team — including handling both major and minor dilemmas within the leadership role. The aim is to increase the student’s awareness of their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as those of the team, within the context of unpredictable and sometimes demanding tasks, and the leadership decisions these situations require.
The course constitutes the third element in the triad of Pedagogy, Basic Tactical Leadership (GRUNDFØR), and Leadership, drawing connections to both pedagogy and tactical command. In doing so, it challenges the student’s perception of the differences and similarities between these disciplines.
The theoretical foundation centres on ethics, the Danish Defence leadership doctrine, and selected well-established leadership theories applicable within the context of Defence tasks.
Teaching is team-based and dialogue-driven, and the theory is applied through numerous cases, practical exercises, and discussions on ethics, human dynamics, and leadership dilemmas.
