Naval Medicine is part of the Military Medical Officer Programme.
The participant is trained to serve as a physician at one of the Defence infirmaries, enabling them—together with one of the Defence’s qualified diving medical officers—to assess whether divers or other personnel exposed to hyperbaric conditions are fit to carry out their specialised duties.
Furthermore, the participant is trained to initiate recompression chamber treatment for a suspected diving casualty.
The teaching is practically oriented.
The theoretical instruction is directly linked to practical application, ensuring that the knowledge acquired is converted into practical skills that ultimately provide the necessary level of competence.
Participants receive instruction through various learning styles, with a focus on group work and practical exercises in water and in different hyperbaric chamber systems.
