The Military Medical Officer Programme will next commence on 27 July 2026.

Job Postings

Job postings for the time-limited reserve doctor positions, including the Military Medical Officer Programme starting on 27 July 2026, will be published on 9 January 2026, with an application deadline of 23 February 2026.

1st selection will take place at Holmen in Copenhagen on 8 April 2026 and 9 April 2026.

2nd selection will take place at Infirmeri Syd in Skrydstrup on 13 April 2026 and 15 April 2026.

Please note that applicants will only attend one of the two dates in Copenhagen, and similarly only one of the two dates in Skrydstrup — provided they progress to the next stage.

In your application, you are welcome to indicate whether you prefer to attend at Holmen on 8 April or 9 April.

Likewise for Skrydstrup: whether you prefer 13 April or 15 April.

We will do our best to accommodate your preference. Please reserve the entire day.

Take care when preparing your written application and place emphasis on clearly presenting your motivation for applying for the position. We expect approximately one A4 page.

The right to independent medical practice

Ensure you meet the requirements for independent medical practice.

Discuss with your immediate family whether you wish to serve as a doctor in the Danish Defence and wear a military uniform.

Be aware that the position involves an intensive training period in which you will be required to stay in Aarhus on weekdays for the first six months, with occasional travel to other parts of the country.

Make clear agreements with your family regarding how you will handle periods away from home — for example during missions or naval deployments lasting several months.

Have documentation for all completed vaccinations, including childhood vaccinations.

Have documentation of your blood type.

Maintain physical fitness so you can pass the Danish Defence Physical Basic Test and meet the physical demands that the programme will sometimes require.
