ABOUT US
CSS IS A TEAM
We are a team composed of both military and healthcare personnel.
We conduct approximately 630 course days per year. Teaching is delivered by the centre’s own staff, colleagues from across the Defence, and external healthcare specialists.
The leadership of the centre currently consists of a Head of Education (Consultant Physician), a Deputy Commander and Head of Training (Officer), and a Centre Sergeant Major. The centre reports to the Chief of the Defence Medical Command (the Surgeon General).
WE FOLLOW THE DEVELOPMENT
The centre ensures that all training programmes remain updated in accordance with the latest experiences and meet current operational requirements.
We conduct healthcare and medical service training programmes within the Defence, including First Aid Instructor, Tactical Medical Care for the Individual Instructor, Medic and Special Forces Medic, Arctic First Responder, the Military Medical Officer Programme, the Military Nursing Programme, and other courses required for the continued development of all healthcare and medical service personnel in the Defence.
HISTORY
The Center for Health and Medical Service Education (CSS) moved to Aarhus from Skalstrup in December 2017. CSS is a department under the Defence Medical Command (FSK), formerly known as the Defence Health Service (FSU). The FSK headquarters is also located in Aarhus and has previously been situated at Jægersborg Barracks and later Skalstrup Air Station.
